In an interview on Sunday, Natalia Humeniuk, the spokesperson for Ukraine's Operational Command South, stated that Russian forces are attempting to wear down Ukraine's air defence system. She explained that the Russian forces are testing and expanding their tactics to find a way around Ukraine's air defense system, as they do not have a stable stock of means to operate with.

Humeniuk also mentioned that the Russians are attempting to locate where Ukraine's air defense systems are located. She noted that the recent evacuations of civilians from the Zaporizhzhia region by Russian authorities were an imitation of care for the local residents and a standard practice used by Russians before. She claimed that the Russians are attempting to evacuate people to the places where they set up their own defense lines and where they are setting their units in order to use local civilians as cover.

Experts suspect that the southern region could be a key target of Ukraine's anticipated counteroffensive against Russian aggression. The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia has caused significant unrest in the region, and tensions between the two nations have been high for many years. The situation remains fluid, and both sides continue to take actions that are likely to escalate the conflict
